RAIDER FEDERATION

After creating the DARK PRINCE, it was time to create something to stop the DARK PRINCE from trying to take over the BLACK HOLE. This was really an important painting for me, because I wanted to express a sense of urgency and like a war was coming. I wanted to build some hype.

Every comic book story line is established by good, evil and someone trying to be in control or retain power.

You can’t have a super hero trying to save the world, if a villain is not trying to take it.

So who is going to stop the DARK PRINCE?

At some point in time I wanted to introduce my main character, but this was ISSUE 1 I was working on and I needed to hit some main points because I was trying to create a RAIDER platform for RAIDER characters to exist in.

So instead of introducing my main character THE CHOSEN ONE right off the top, creating the RAIDER FEDERATION was perfect because this allowed me to create a home base which was the RAIDER CAPITAL and the RAIDER FEDERATION was in-charge of defending it.

By bringing in the RAIDER FEDERATION , this would allowed me to bring in some RAIDER history and establish who was going to go against the DARK PRINCE.

When it came to painting the RAIDER FEDERATION painting, there was this one moment when I remember DEREK CARR in the huddle and he just had this look like his going to war.

It was December 18th, 2016, Raiders vs Charges. It was in the 4th quarter and Raiders were driving for a first down and Carr ran the ball to secure the win. But before that play, I remember Carr talking to his players and he was letting his players know , this is it…it’s all or nothing.

That’s the feeling I was trying to bring to this painting I was creating, because this was a big moment for the RAIDER FEDERATION.

It was game time.

A war was coming and it was all or nothing.

What will happen next?

Will the RAIDER FEDERATION be able to save the BLACK HOLE?
