Every Super Hero and Villain needs a home.
Thats just one of the most basic rules when it comes to building a platform for your character to exist in.
The Joker
The JOKER has GOTHAM to run his illegal operations as BATMAN and ROBIN protect the city streets from mayhem.
You have to have some type of home to build your characters storyline.
The only time your character does not have a home is when your characters storyline is based on your character trying to find their home or not having a home makes your character act or feel some type of way.
In this case, were talking about THE CHOSEN ONE and my storyline is going to be about the RAIDERS existence, so it was a no brainer.
Every single RAIDER fan and Rival fan knows, when we are talking about the RAIDERS, we are talking about THE BLACK HOLE.
Because when you are a RAIDER, you are born with that BLACK HOLE swagger.
That’s just the way it is.
When you are around a RAIDER, you can just feel that Silver and Black gravity force pulling you in. THE BLACK HOLE is the strongest force in the Universe. Once your in it, you’re never coming out.
So with those elements in mind, how does an artist paint something thats pitch black?
Needing inspiration and some ideas, I called my niece Angel so I could ask her about how I should paint THE BLACK HOLE.
I could rember asking my niece, ”How do you think I should paint THE BLACK HOLE?” and my niece responded ”You should paint it with a bunch of colors.”
I then asked my niece if she could send me an example because I’m always asking her to be involved and to work on her painting skills. My niece sent me one of her famous drawings of a BLACK HOLE which I thought was really cool.
Every time she sends me a drawing it inspires me to work harder and to keep painting.
I took my nieces example of what she did and used her circles to give me a foundation for my own personal painting.
When I started to create THE BLACK HOLE , I remember thinking to myself about the RAIDER NATION and what the RAIDERS represented. At first I was thinking about painting a perfect painting, but the truth is, the RAIDERS represent an abstract culture filled with a little of everything from a bunch of crazy characters, to metal spikes and skulls.
So instead of trying to do something perfect, I just went abstract with SCENE 1, THE BLACK HOLE.
I wanted SCENE 1 to have that feeling of ”ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK FEELING,” because this was the RAIDER’S home and the birth of THE CHOSEN ONE.
Whats crazy about creating THE BLACK HOLE, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I was going to paint for my first scene and as soon as I was done creating a home for my character, a few seconds later I found myself thinking about creating a villain to destroy it.
Now, that I’ve created THE BLACK HOLE for RAIDER characters to exist in, it’s time for me to crate a Villain to create some drama.
Just Create Baby!
