WHAT INSPIRED ME TO CREATE A RAIDERS LEGACY 51 COMIC BOOK?

Well, before I get into the COMIC BOOK creation of RAIDERS LEGACY 51, I must first tell you how I came up with the idea and how I ended up in AREA 51.

I got my sweet little niece named “ANGEL” and her mother is a RAIDER fan and her father is a 49er fan.

I’ve been in prison for over 23 years, so being I’m unable to produce my own football squad, my sister named her daughter ANGEL after me to keep my name alive, becuase who knows when I’ll ever get the chance to get some playing time on the field again.

But you know the rules of the game, when you break the rules or law, there’s a lonely place called the bench and being a bench warmer is not an easy task.

So I am very blessed for my sister to name her daughter after me.

Being I’m TIO ANGEL, comes a big responsibility, because it’s only right for me to guide my little niece in the right direction. Of course she’s going to be just like me. Well, I would hope so…

So there I was on the phone talking to my niece ANGEL one night during the time of COVID-19, and we were talking about football like a TIO should be doing with their niece. I was asking her all the big questions.

So who’s your favorite football team babygirl? With no hesitation, my niece said; ” I like my daddy’s team.”

As my niece said that, I knew she was reffering to the 49ers, so my response back to her was; “that’s right babygirl, you were born to be a RAIDER. You got that silver and black blood. Just Win Baby!”

And then I heard my niece giggle like I was some crazy TIO and she said ;”No, I like my daddy’s team.”

After hearing my niece say that for a second time, in my head I started to think, “Oh, Helllll Nooooo……” I knew my job as a TIO was about to get even harder, because my niece was already getting brainwashed by her father with a bunch of 49er propaganda and fools gold dreams. I needed to gifure something out real quick befoere things got even worst.

And right when I was going to say; “put your MAMA on the phone, because we need to have a talk about who’s running things in the house,” you only got 30 seconds left on your phone call.”

After 30 seconds of RAIDER hugs, kisses and good nights to my niece, I found myself back in “REAL BLACK HOLE,” in my prison cell thinking about how I was going to bring my niece to the dark side.

Laying on my steel bunk and thinking about the conversation I just had with my little niece, I felt like Sebastian Janikowski was about to kick a 60 yard field goal and everything was on the line.

If you were a RAIDER fan during the Sebastian Janikowski era, you know what kind of feeling I’m talking about, because everytime he had to kick a game ending field goal, it was do or die, silver and black or nothing.

Feeling like everything was on the line, my brain started to think about some random ideas to convince my niece to be a RAIDER for life, but getting my niece a RAIDER jersey or doing a drawing of a RAIDER shield was not going to work.

This was serious business, so I needed something bigger.

I needed a RAIDER PRAYER.

As an artist, my mind tends to have these visions as I’m thinking or seeing something, and as I was thinking about that RAIDER PRAYER to bring my niece to the dark side, I had this vision of Sebastian Janikowski getting ready to kick a game winning field goal..

I then created a painting called, ‘RAIDER PRAYER,” and it was painted on a 9″x12″ canvas with black and white acrylic paint.

I wanted to capture that game ending field goal moment and how important it was for that field goal to go in for the RAIDER NATION, because that’s how I felt about my niece becoming a RAIDER fan.

I knew a simple RAIDER jersey or RAIDER drawing was not going to work to convince my niece, so I pulled out my note pad and strarted to take some mental notes as the 10:00 p.m., news came on TV.

As the news came on TV, I just heard the reporter say, BREAKING NEWS, “there will be no fans in the stadiums due to the COVID-19.”

What? No, fans in the stadiums?

Did I hear the reporter say, what I think he said?

The first thought that popped in my mind after hearing that BREAKING NEWS was; what about the RAIDERS new stadium? VEGAS? All the RAIDER fans who can’t wait to cheer on the RAIDERS. Was it all just a VEGAS dream?

Needing more info, I then turned on my radio to listen to the ESPN station on my AM dial, but for some reason the reception was not coming in clear, so I changed the station and tuned in to another radio station called ; COAST TO COAST.

COAST TO COAST is a radio station that talks about random topics from ALIENS, AREA 51 to ROSWELL, so I figured I would listen to some ALIEN talk for a few minutes and then come back to my ESPN station around 11PM, because that’s when ESPN comes in real clear.

Sitting at my desk now and drafting up some ideas about what I was going to do for my little niece, all I could hear was the talk host talking about was AREA 51 and how all these ALIEN watchers wanted to storm AREA 51 to find out what was the GOVERNMENT hiding in that TOP SECRET location.

Anyone who says they don’t want to know the truth about ALIENS is full of balony, because everyone loves aliens and wants to know what’s going on at AREA 51.

As a kid growing up, I was always facinated with ALIENS, AREA 51 and this one TV show called UNSOLVED MYSTERIES.

And on this night, the talk host was on a good one becuase I could just feel the passion coming from the host and all the listeners calling in and giving their two cents on what they thought or seen.

And thats when I had my lightbulb moment…

I still remember the host saying; “for all you ALIEN believers or non-believers, the truth is out there, you just got to find it.”

So there I was at 11PM at night trying to find the truth…

That’s when the IDEA of making a RAIDER comic book came to my mind and I could make my niece ANGEL the main character.

But how does an artist do that with no comic book experience, no social media manager and with a niece who is being forced to be a 49er fan by her father.

I need to save my niece before it’s to late…

Well, if you like behind the scenes action, this BLOG is for you, because I’m going to share with you everything I go through to make this RAIDER comic book happen, from the story line to character development to all my hardships and struggles of trying to produce a comic book for the first time.

This comic book I;m creating is actually a ‘LIVE’ character platform for RAIDER fans and RIVAL fans to be a part of.

As the creator and srtist of RADIERS LEGACY 51, I am going to eventually paint the whole history of the RAIDERS, but with a twist of RAIDER ALIENS and AREA 51 action.

I actually have 100 issues with 1,000 hand painted illustrations ready to be released, but will only be released as the RAIDER season unfolds.

My goal is to give the RAIDER fans something to enjoy and be a part of as the RAIDERS make their way into the AREA 51 LEGACY.
