When it comes to the original RAIDER LEGEND, AL DAVIS, rest in peace.
He is a very big inspiration for all the RAIDER fans caught up in “THE REAL BLACK HOLE.”
As I create RAIDER LEGACY 51, I would like to give a big dedication to the original creator of the RAIDERS, AL DAVIS, who is a true believer on giving people 2nd chances no matter who you were or where you came from.
If there was no RAIDERS, there would of been a lot of good people who did not get the chance to play football, coach football, manage football and I would not e doing this comic book project right now.
He was always trying to create something great out of nothing.
In memory of RAIDER LEGEND, AL DAVIS, I did a painting called “RAIDER BOSS.” The painting was created on a 10″x14″ canvas. I used black and white acrylic paint. I wanted to do a painting of AL DAVIS giving one last look into the BLACK HOLE with his RAIDER BOSS look.
As I did the painting, I had a bunch of people stop by my prison cell and with no hesitation all the RAIDER fans said; can you TATOO that AL DAVIS painting on me? I want to get AL DAVIS on me with the words “JUST WIN BABY!”
As I responded back to each RAIDER fan who asked me, I said to them;
“your not no real RAIDER fan, you don’t even know what those words mean?”
Each RAIDER fan who I said that too, was like “hell, yeah… It’s RAIDERS all day, every day, silver and black blood till I die, JUST WIN BABY!!!
AL DAVIS would of been proud to hear that…
