It did not matter where I was or what I was going through in ‘THE REAL BLACK HOLE, ” because my mind was focus and I was back on track in the positive mood to start working on ISSUE 1.
I then pulled my sketch pad and said to myself; “JUST CREATE BABY”.
When it comes to building a comic book and characters there are some basic rules you need to follow to bring your story line to life.
For example, there would be no SPIDERMAN without VENOM. There has to be some type of conflict to bring your character to life.
Your character can’t save the world, if it’s not being destroyed.
There also has to be some type of place where your character comes from because every character comes from their own special place or usually from a planet.
As for THE CHOSEN ONE, it was a no brainer. I was going to make the BLACK HOLE my character’s birth place and my story line is based on the painting the real story about the RAIDERS and their true existence.
When it came to thinking about all this, I must say, I was thinking about the whole RAIDER NATION, because this was the time of COVID-19 and I could remember just wondering about all the RAIDER fans not being able to have a home to exist in.
That’s when my idea of just creating a comic book for my niece ANGEL became much larger than me doing something simple, because what I was really trying to do was create a platform for ALL RAIDER FANS to a be a part of.
It was no longer just about THE CHOSEN ONE.
I started to think about the GORILLA RILLA, THE VIOLATOR and all the rest of the RAIDER characters who needed a home to exist in. In reality there is a bunch of great RAIDER characters that are like super heroes to all the RAIDER fans.
I got pictures of my family with the GORILLA RILLA at the RAIDER games and I could still remember my little nephews all pumped up and excited because they met him.
But a character or characters can not exist without a home, platform or story line.
So when it came to sketching out my first scene for ISSUE 1, “THE BLACK HOLE”, it was more than me just doing a simple sketch.
It was bigger than that!!!
I really felt like I had the whole RAIDER NATION on my shoulders, because I was about to create RAIDER LEGACY 51.
My nie Angel dressed as the chosen one. Ready for war, with her mom and dad.
